Development Intern

New York City Center’s Development Department is currently seeking an intern. The intern will participate in all Development Department functions with a special emphasis on City Center’s individual giving area.

City Center development interns help produce gift acknowledgment letters; answer the Membership hotline; assist in booking reservations and Open Dress Rehearsals; participate in the operation of cultivation events and patrons’ lounge activities; manage our auction donation program; research both individual and institutional prospects; attend all department and staff meetings; assist with clerical tasks and other duties as needed.

Candidate must have computer proficiency, very strong writing, communication, and organizational skills, and a pleasant and professional telephone manner. Interest/experience in arts administration is advantageous. Knowledge of Tessitura a plus, but not required. Commitment of 30 hours per week required, though exact schedule can be negotiated. Some evenings and weekends required. Stipend offered. Start date flexible.

Part-Time Weekend Operations Assistant

Individual will work closely with the Director of Operations and other operations staff sharing the responsibility for supervising a union crew of 20 people in the cleaning and upkeep of the three theaters as well as four dance studios and the office tower.

Duties include maintaining schedules, delegating projects, inspecting work, overseeing stocking of supplies and materials, receiving deliveries, submitting reports concerning personnel, equipment, supplies, expenses, assisting with various projects as requested by Director of Operations and the Studio Rental Department.

Requirements:
Must be able to work with and motivate a diverse staff and create a positive team-building environment. Experience working with cleaning staff and general supervisory experience preferred. Fluency in Spanish helpful.

Position is part-time, $13+/hour depending on experience.
Regular hours: 7a-7p on Saturday & Sunday/ 11a-1p on Wednesday.

Internships
Internships are offered in marketing, development, and education, as well as with Encores!® Great American Musicals in Concert. Opportunities are typically available September to December, January to May, or May to August; Encores! internships correspond with the production schedules. Some stipends are available. For more internship information, please contact New York City Center Administration with your resumé and a letter of intent.
 
Volunteers
New York City Center welcomes a select, few volunteers to assist with the merchandise boutique, the Membership information booth, and patron lounge hospitality during evening and matinee performances of Encores! Great American Musicals in Concert, as well as providing clerical support during business hours for special projects.
