Studio Policies

  All studios are equipped with a piano (tuning not included), Bluetooth Portable Speakers, wall mirrors, air-conditioning, WiFi access, and three 15 amp circuits.

  Available upon request: Tables, Chairs, Ballet Barres

  Rates

  Studio time must be booked in two-hour blocks. Additional charges may be applied for piano tunings, room set-up, and equipment rentals. Please contact us at StudioRentals@NYCityCenter.org for current studio rental rates.

  *Studio Renters are not permitted to sell tickets for showcases or events in the studios or through any location or outlet. Admission to the showcases or events shall be by invitation only
  ** Non-Profit Organization rate is for rehearsals only.
  ***City Center is offering subsidized studio space for non-profit dance and music rehearsals. The availability is limited and the reduced rates are applicable only to the following periods: Mon – Sat 6pm – 10pm and Sun 10am – 10pm. Subsidized hours can be booked up to one month in advance, subject to availability.

  Hours of Use

  • Studio time must be booked in full-hour increments and for a minimum of 2 hours.
  • Studio operating hours are 8am – 10pm, 7 days a week.

  Studio Rules

  Street shoes are not permitted in the studios when they are being used for rehearsals, auditions, performances, or classes. For dance classes, appropriate footwear must be used.

  • No food or drink (with the exception of bottled water with a screw top).
  • No live percussion or loud amplified sound.
  • No tap shoes or other percussive shoes.
  • No rosin.
  • No receptions.
  • No storage at any time.
  • Sets and props that do not fit in the elevator are not permitted.
  • You may not enter the Studio or the Studio Waiting Room until your rental time begins. All items and participants must be out of the Studio and Studio Waiting Room by the end of your rental time or you may be charged a late exit fee.

  Deposits

  A 50% non-refundable deposit will be required for all rentals totaling $1,500 or more. This payment is due at the time of booking. If we do not receive the deposit within one week of the booking date your space may be released.

  Payments

  • Payment in full must be received 14 days before your booking date or your space may be released.
  • Payment can be submitted via mailed check, ACH wire transfer, or PayPal through this link: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/nycitycenter. If you choose to pay via PayPal, be sure to put your invoice number in your PayPal notes.

  Cancellation and Refund Policy

  • All deposits are non-refundable.
  • If you cancel your studio reservation more than 14 days prior to the Commencement Date, you will be refunded the full rental fee, less any non-refundable deposit (if applicable).
  • All bookings cancelled 14 days or less from the booking start date will be liable for 100% of the rental fee.
