Flamenco has rarely felt as charged and alive.
A new alter ego is formed when two flamenco greats discover each other through dance. In Losa and Guerrero’s US premiere of Alter Ego, they throw away the rule book to explore personal connection. The expert Losa returns to City Center after “delivering rhythmic complexity and surprise in footwork” (The New York Times) in last year’s Festival. The powerful Guerrero draws geometric figures with her dance, dismantling movements and recreating them. This duet also features vocalists Sandra Carrasco and Ismael “El Bola,” and guitarist Jose Manuel Martinez “El Peli.”

El flamenco pocas veces ha sido tan intenso y vivo
Un nuevo alter ego nace cuando dos grandes del flamenco se descubren a través de la danza. En el estreno en EEUU de Alter Ego, Losa y Guerrero rompen las reglas para explorar la conexión personal. El virtuoso Losa regresa a City Center después de “ofrecer complejidad rítmica y sorpresa en el zapateado” (The New York Times) en el Festival del año pasado. La poderosa Guerrero dibuja figuras geométricas con su baile, desmantelando movimientos y recreándolos. Este dúo también cuenta con la participación de los vocalistas Sandra Carrasco e Ismael “El Bola”, y el guitarrista José Manuel Martínez “El Peli”.
