¡Adelante, Cuba! Festival
Mainstage
Apr 28, 2018
¡Adelante, Cuba! Festival is a celebration of the rich and vibrant artists of Cuba featuring dance, music, talks, master classes, and a special Festival Kickoff at The Greene Space.
The Festival closes with an evening of Afro-Cuban music curated by and featuring six-time Grammy Award winner Arturo O’Farrill and the Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra, with a cavalcade of special guests—including famed singer Omara Portuondo—who illuminate the best of traditional Cuban music through modern innovation.
Also joining O’Farrill in this one-night-only concert are Havana rapper Telmary Diaz; jazz pianist Roberto Fonseca; Camerata Romeu, the first all-female string orchestra in Latin America; trumpet player Yasek Manzano; and tap artist Ayodele Casel.
The Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra is a resident orchestra of the Afro Latin Jazz Alliance (ALJA). Performances of the orchestra are provided as a courtesy of ALJA, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in New York City.
