Studio 5 at City Center:
Barbara and David Zalaznick Studio
Mon, Jun 4, 2018
All Tickets $30
New York City Ballet principal dancer Tyler Angle hosts an evening of conversation and live dance performances celebrating the legendary composer Leonard Bernstein during his centenary year. Discourse and dance excerpts focus on the ballets created to his music by Jerome Robbins—who also marks his centenary in 2018—including excerpts from master works like Dybbuk, West Side Story Suite, and Fancy Free. Angle moderates a discussion with NYCB conductor Andrew Litton surrounding a program which features pianist Susan Walters and dancers Devin Alberda, Daniel Applebaum, Harrison Coll, Ralph Ippolito, Lars Nelson, Sebastian Villarini-Verez, and Peter Walker.
The Studio 5 at City Center series—featuring a first-time partnership with American Ballet Theatre—takes audiences beyond the proscenium for intimate conversations and live performance excerpts from the great dance artists of today.
