“MIRONOV IS ASTOUNDINGLY PERCEPTIVE”
— TEATR MAGAZINE

Following their critically acclaimed run of Shukshin’s Stories (2016), Russia’s Theatre of Nations returns to New York with a dramatic retelling of Anton Chekhov’s Ivanov. Controversial opera and theater master Timofey Kulyabin, best known for his rebellious take on Wagner’s Tannhäuser, directs. Evgeny Mironov, Chulpan Khamatova, Elizaveta Boyarskaya, and Victor Verzhbitskiy lead the cast in this production of the classic play that centers on the question: Is Ivanov as much of a scoundrel as those around him contend?

With Ivanov, Theatre of Nations brings to life Chekhov’s keen observation, comedic eye for social detail, and instinct for the drama of human contradiction.

In Russian with English supertitles
