“UNNERVINGLY BEAUTIFUL”
—The New York Times
The first dance company founded in America, Martha Graham Dance Company presents The EVE Project—programs of acclaimed classics and stunning commissions celebrating female empowerment. Inspired by Martha Graham’s spirit of innovation, today’s Graham Company champions new work and is front and center in the movement to honor female artists.
The Company’s 2020 City Center performances feature beloved pieces from Graham’s repertory including her bewitching riff on the Odysseus myth, Circe; her wry and starry-eyed Every Soul Is a Circus; and her stirring anti-war statement Chronicle. Programs will also offer works by some of today’s top choreographers including Pam Tanowitz, Maxine Doyle, and Bobbi Jene Smith, and a premiere by groundbreaking choreographer Andrea Miller. All performances feature live music performed by The Mannes Orchestra.
